Workers Helping Workers and Mohawk Joey present
On Friday, March 11 2021 at 9 a.m., living wage activist Joey Holz, also known as Mohawk Joey online, will be Walking for Living Wages, a demonstration to bring awareness to wage disparity and the need for a living wage for all Americans. To accomplish this we are founding an organization, Workers Helping Workers, and taking action! Joey Holz is walking 15 miles because the federal minimum wage must be raised to at least $15 an hour, because if your gonna talk the talk, you've got to walk the walk.
The walking route starts at 9 a.m. March 11th in front of Amazon Warehouse RSW5 (8250 Logistics Dr, Fort Myers, FL 33912) on Alico Rd. The route heads west on Alico to US 41 then proceeds north towards the following checkpoints:
Bell Tower Shops (13499 S Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33907) at 12 p.m.
Edison Mall (4125 Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33901) at 3 p.m. and finishes with a peaceful rally, march, and demonstration through downtown Ft. Myers at 5 p.m.
We will gather at the Miller Griffin Memorial Kiwanis Park (2154 Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33901) walk through the heart of Downtown Fort Myers reaching our final destination, the Fort Myers Regional Library courtyard (2450 First St, Fort Myers, FL 33901) around 6 p.m.
Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to join us at any point in the day online or in person.
